Cards, Cards && more Cards!!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are doing good this week, I'm doing great thank you for the emails I love taking the time for answering the questions about where to buy cheaper and what supplies and tools to use for each    craft or card.
The last few days I've been making this beautiful handmade cards, having fun with all the scrapbook paper, stamps, ribbons, glitters etc.
Some of the ideas are from Hobby Lobby inspirations bulletins for cards, made with punchers, the other ones I've been looking ideas at Pinterest, I took just some ideas not doing them exactly the same, you have to let your imagination and creativity to work a little; plus you get to play with your own tools... :)

new ideas for handmade cards

Hello everyone! i know I've been out of my blog the last two weeks, but i needed it some new ideas, new inspirations and more research in the new/not well known products out there.
I have to confess that I've been buying too many materials and supplies for my crafts, my bank account sent me a notification that my account went below $25, but I can't complaint about it, I got a few new tools like the AGT (Advance Tape Glider)
Wonderful tool for all type of  paper, no more messy glue residues around your projects. It's a little expensive, but as you know I'm a coupon saver and I got it at Michael's craft store for half  price.
Another puncher to my collection, is this round corner puncher make any rectangle or square with perfect round corners. This little punch i found it at Hobby Lobby.
Over this days of research and looking for new ideas, my head cleared up and soaked with new techniques, I found this great retailer online store www.allthatscraps.com you can find from stamps to Copic markers, ribbons, all types of glue and much more. I highly recommend it, the prices are just right and they have a variety of goodies for your crafts.
Here are some of my latest ideas please feel free to leave a comment or email me for more info about them.

Thank you very much and I'll see you next time.
For this card i used 100 pound white card stock, cherry blossoms flower open scrapbook paper at  Michael's,  polka dots white and brown ribbon and soft pink ribbon (1 inch thick), clear stamp with "sending Blessings your way" sentiment also available at Michael's and memento black tuxedo ink.

And this card it's just a little simple, but with a really unique way to say thanks to your hairstylist or  to your friend for coffee last week. Felt trim, card stock paper and a flower made of plastic from Hobby Lobby. Enjoy :)

Handmade Easter Cards

Easter is just around the corner, and it's time to show your friends and family some blooming love with making them home made cards. Who doesn't love a good old home made card!

These homemade cards are very simple and cheap to make. I used some rubber stamps, felt flowers and an oval scalloped puncher.

You can create so many different style cards for everyone special in your life just with a few different materials you might have already at your desk.

I don't know if you shop at Marshalls, TJ maxx or any of those stores, but one thing that i love from those stores are the stationary and crafts supplies aisle (oo and of course the clothe, but lets get back to the craft aisle) they carry sometimes crafts markers, ribbons, blank cards, scrap booking supplies etc. and they are really really cheap. I went to Marshalls the other day, and I found markers for my rubber stamps ($11.99 originally at Michaels) they cost me $4.99 same brand, same colors and same quality. Gotta love it! These stores get new supply shipments sometimes 2 or 3 times a week, so every time you go they have new products.

Again you can create a lot of different card styles with different materials you might already have. Try to combine more than one style or technique for each card, I guarantee that you are gonna have fun playing around while creating a beautiful card.

Now in days there are so many options in the market, from the cheapest to high quality tools, like the Cricut Expressions to the punchers, pre-made cut-outs to handmade designs. I recommend that if you are starting off use paper punchers they will add that perfect touch to your card. You can design some of the best cut out figures with the help of 2 or more punchers.

Paper homemade cards are so elegant and unique for the simple fact that you can decorate and style them as you want. You can add whatever message you want to it depending on who you are giving it to or you can just simply add a happy faced flower to brighten up someones day! The main point is that you handmade from your heart for that special friend.

Well this was a short blog for today, I am currently working on a bigger craft which I will blog about later, I hope you enjoy this mini project and please free feel to leave a question or comment, I'll be glad to read them and get back to you :)
See you soon with Easter Craft Part 2..... and remember to have fun while making your Craft With Little Cash!!

Easter Decorations Part 1

Hosting an Easter party at home?
No decorations and low on budget....no worries.
Here is a beautiful ornament for your to use on your food table, you can use it as place card holder. There are limitless uses for this decoration! The best part of this Easter decoration is that.........All of the materials cost one dollar or less, I found most of the supplies at the dollar store and wal-mart, but you can go to your favorite local craft store. These materials are not that expensive but they create a beautiful decoration, that why this is a beautiful craft with little cash!

1) For this project you will need:
  • mini shimmer pom-poms.
  • white foam cone.( you decide the size of the cone, dollar store has  one size only 7 inch approx.)
  • mini colorful foam Easter eggs
  • hot glue gun / glue sticks.
  • white and pink card stock paper or hard felt sheets for the bunny ears.
  • Wired ribbon 2.5 inch thick for the bow.

The amount of Easter eggs will depend in the size of the foam cone, for the dollar store cone, I used 2 (dollar store bags) each bag brings 12 mini eggs.

The foam eggs have a ribbon attached, I carefully took it off by hand; By pulling the ribbon out by hand,  it will come off very easily .You can find the mini pom-poms  at the crafts section at wal-mart only for a dollar.

First step is glue each egg carefully with some hot glue to the cone, start from the bottom and work you way up. Don't worry if you start to see some of the white of the cone, you will be filling those holes later with the color pom-poms.

If you start to have a hard time making the eggs stick, just press apply pressure with both your hands, make sure you put enough of hot glue and let it dry while your hands are applying pressure, it takes a few seconds for the glue to dry.

When your done gluing the 24 foam eggs, start with the pom-poms filling all the holes around the cone, I used around 40 mini pom-poms in total all around the cone.

At the very top I glued an egg on top of the cone so that it doesn't loose it cone shape.
Using white and pink card stock I cut out a pair of bunny ears, glued them together in the back and added a bow made with wired Easter themed ribbon.

By adding a pretty name tag these can work as place cards for your Easter brunch and as party favors. Or if you decide to decorate your table with more than one of these bunny center pieces you can put little messages with Bible verses to celebrate this special holiday. There are so many ways in which you can use this Easter Decoration which  only cost less than $10.00 to make, another crafts with little ca$h.

Valentine's Day Center Pieces

Who doesn't love Valentine's day decorations?
This post is all about Valentine's. At my church we are preparing our Valentines Day  kids party decorations. All of the decorations are handmade by the teachers of the kids Ministry. We started off with recycled beautiful table centerpieces. The bases are just simple white boxes (we have used these white boxes several times through out the year for all kinds of occasions; baby showers, summer parties, Christmas parties, they are only $5.00 at Michael's craft store).

At the bottom of the white box we filled them up with just some floral foam from the dollar store (we used 2 in each white box, cut it into 2 pieces), we bought just 1 roll of ribbon 1.7 inch thick, because we already had some white with red stripes from Christmas. You can go through your old Christmas decorations from last year you might find some ribbons that you can use. The majority of Christmas decorations or red, why not use them for valentines!!

To fill the boxes, we used tissue paper, 8 valentine's decoration tissue paper sheets for a $1 at the dollar store. We also bought beautiful heart foam picks (6 picks for only $1.) To add a fun touch to our decoration we made bows with 1inch thick ribbon and  mini pom-poms. For the finishing touch we placed in the middle of the centerpiece a big marshmallow heart-shaped candy and red heart lollipop.

The majority of the supplies and candy fillers are from the dollar store, they do have some marvelous buys, to make some marvelous parties.

Another center piece we made was a marshmallow arrangement, each kid received one of these treats! For this arrangement you will need:
white box, blue wired ribbon, floral foam (2 cut it in half), 2 baby blue tissue paper sheets, medium heart-shaped marshmallows, medium white marshmallows, wood picks, long treats bag wrappers and paper ribbon. You can arrange the marshmallow picks as you want them.

UPDATE: How did our Party go???

The party went great and everyone had a blast! We set up one long table with chairs for the kids, to have them all together so they could enjoy the party as a big family! Everyone brought cards and exchanged them with all the other kids. The kids loved exchanging the cards ooooo and of course some cupcakes, juice and pizza also made them happy.

Thank you for all the support you give to this blog, next i will be making a gorgeous Easter basket and a Easter wreath!!!!

Special thanks for Julia Dupuy, Adriana Chaparro, Fany Chaparro, Jacqueline Garcia, Alejandra Dominguez & Merlyn Guardado.
